Man killed in his Frankford apartment

An unidentified gunman took the life of a Frankford man inside the victim’s apartment on Friday night, according to Philadelphia police.

Officers were called to a building on the 4300 block of Elizabeth St. shortly before midnight and found John Cox, 24, lying on his back inside a front second-floor apartment. He had gunshot wounds of the chest and arms. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene a short time later.

The shooter had fled the scene by the time police arrived. No suspects or motive have been identified. ••
